I once dated a girl that had someone else´s baby. He was a cute kid and since I like kids it was cool. She always had this fear that no one would want to date her once they found out she had a kid so she often would hide that little fact. But I think that many guys these days are open to the reality that people have had a life before they came into a picture. But honesty is the best policy.

I have found that one of the most important ingredients in a successful relationship is making sure you´re on the same page. Communication, as cliché as it may sound, is the best. It quite simply works. Dodging subject matters in fear that they other person will reject you doesn´t work and although at first it may seem to work, later on it comes back to haunt you.

In my novel, Forever My Lady , one of the main characters Jennifer is pregnant with her boyfriend´s baby when she meets someone who she believes would be a better match for her. He has everything going for him and wants to sweep her away. Things are going very well but then she finds out that she´s pregnant and worries she´ll lose it all when she tells him.

I believe when someone truly loves you they don´t care. You might be surprised too how many dudes out there actually want to be daddies. A lot of them do. The media likes to spotlight all the dead beat papas out there but in reality there are just as many if not more so responsible young men out there that would love to have a family.
